Otherwise, if you want to share your closet and rent it, choose rental.

How you price your item can depend on how you prefer to provide it— Rental or Sale. Choose a lower starting price for rentals to create more interest.

How do I create an account?
To get started, click on login and fill in the required information. We’ll help you create and verify your account, and set-up payment information during your first listing.

When will I get paid?
After we confirm the buyer's payment has been received, payouts are sent directly to your bank account, Monday through Friday (excluding bank holidays), within two business days. Once a payout is initiated, funds are typically available within 1-3 business days depending on your bank's normal processing time.
Buying or Renting items with The United Closet
Creating a The United Closet account
You need to register as a The United Closet member to buy or rent an item on the platform. You’ll find all your purchases and rentals on your account.
To create an account, select Login and enter your information. You will get a confirmation email and then select Login at the top of the page.
Once you've created The United Closet account, you'll get all the benefits of being a member. You can:
- Access full order details
- Rent or buy available listings
- Leave feedback
- Send messages to other TUC members
- Use My TUC to manage and track orders
Top Takeaway
You can usually buy onTUC without an account if the item is selling for less than $50 and it’s offered with direct purchase. You need a TUC account to rent an item.
Track your order
If your seller is using a tracked shipping service, you’ll be able to view carrier information as well as your order’s current location. If your item isn’t sent with tracking, you’ll be able to see the expected delivery date for your package.

Tip
If the seller is using a tracked service but you can’t see a tracking number, they may need to upload the tracking information. You can contact the seller to ask them to add tracking.
Get help with an item that hasn't arrived
If the estimated delivery date for your order has passed and your item hasn't arrived, you can let the seller know by reporting that you didn't receive it.
First check the delivery information, and if the expected delivery date has passed, let the seller know that it hasn't arrived. If the seller doesn't respond or if they can't resolve the problem, please contact TUC.

Ask TUC to step in and help
If the seller hasn't responded, or hasn't provided a resolution after 3 business days, you can ask us to step in. You have up to 21 business days from when you opened the original request.
If there's a problem with the item or you want to return it, you'll need find a resolution with the seller and contact the seller.
If you had already received a refund, get in touch with the seller about what to do next. For example, you could:
- Send the item back and keep the refund
- Keep the item and arrange to reimburse the seller
Paying for items
When you see an item for sale or rent on TUC, the listing will include the payment methods you can use to buy it. If you have any problems paying for your items, contact contact@theunitedcloset.com
When you're ready to pay, simply go to checkout. You'll be able to select your payment method and review your order details, including your shipping address, before you pay.
A deposit will be retained as a seller protection
The deposit will not be subtracted from your payment method, it only will be blocked by your bank and serves as a guarantee in case the item you return after a rental is damaged. This will serve as a seller protection. The deposit is calculated as a percentage of the price of renting the item on the specific timeline.
Ways to pay
In most categories, credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal are accepted. You'll find the payment methods accepted by going to the Shipping and Payments section of the listing.
Timelines for paying
When you buy or rent an item on TUC, you'll need to pay the seller within 4 days. The sooner the seller receives your payment, the sooner they'll send your item.
You'll find everything you've bought recently in your Purchase History.
Contacting a seller
You can contact a seller on TUC whether you've already bought or rented an item from them or not.
Completing a purchase outside of TUC
One of our top priorities is protecting our members, so we don't allow contact information to be used to complete sales off our site. When this happens, it poses a risk of fraud. If a seller asks you to complete a transaction outside of TUC, please let us know.
Protections for all sellers/renters
Abusive buying activity
You can assist us by reporting the buyer and clearly describing what they are doing. This will help us investigate potential policy violations and take actions to protect you.
An item is returned after it was damaged by the buyer
Sellers /renters who are eligible for this protection for listings that offer rental.
If the item is returned in a different condition than it was originally sent:
- You will get the caution that we blocked on the buyers' account for the rented item.
A buyer demanded something not offered in the original listing
You never have to agree to any changes to the terms in your listing (for example, including additional items or giving a discount). If a buyer demands a change to what you originally offered, you can choose to cancel the order or you can complete the transaction under the original terms.
Events outside your control
An item arrived late but tracking shows that you shipped on time. we automatically adjust your late shipment rate and remove negative or neutral feedback.
Fees
We charge one type of fee: final value fees.
Final value fees
We charge one final value fee when your item sells or rents, and you don't have to worry about third-party payment processing fees. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the total amount of the sale or rental.
The total amount of the sale rental includes the item price, any handling charges. It doesn’t include shipping costs collected from the buyer.
An order is defined as any number of items purchased or rented by the same buyer at checkout with the same shipping method.
